Licensed workout music, your own radio ads and class announcements, made for UK gyms.

To play music in a gym in the UK you need two things: a music service made for businesses, and a public performance licence.

What your gym needs

STEP 1

GymRadio.com

Your music service. We hold the music supplier licences for the tracks we play, so the music itself is cleared for use in your gym.

STEP 2

TheMusicLicence from PPL PRS

The UK public performance licence. Almost every UK business that plays music to staff or members needs one, gyms included. PPL PRS works out the cost from your gym’s size and how you use music, including classes.

Get your licence directly from PPL PRS. For other countries, see licensing by country.

Questions from UK gyms

Can I play Spotify or Apple Music in my UK gym?

No. Their terms are for personal use only, and a public performance licence does not change that. You need a music service made for businesses, like GymRadio.com.

Does GymRadio.com replace TheMusicLicence?

No. You need both. GymRadio.com provides the music for business use, and the licence covers playing it in public in the UK.

Do the ads and class announcements need a licence?

No. The ads and announcements you make in the Ad Studio are your own content.

Which currency do I pay in?

You can pay in pounds: Pro is £59 a month, or £559 a year.
