Licensed workout music, your own radio ads and class announcements, made for US gyms.

To play music in a gym in the US you need two things: a music service made for businesses, and a public performance license.

What your gym needs

STEP 1

GymRadio.com

Your music service. We hold the music supplier licenses for the tracks we play, so the music itself is cleared for use in your gym.

STEP 2

Public performance licenses from ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR

In the US, each of these organizations represents different songwriters, so most gyms need a license from each one. They work out the cost from your gym’s size and how you use music, including classes.

Get your license directly from ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR. For other countries, see licensing by country.

Questions from US gyms

Can I play Spotify or Apple Music in my US gym?

No. Their terms are for personal use only, and a public performance license does not change that. You need a music service made for businesses, like GymRadio.com.

Does GymRadio.com replace your ASCAP, BMI, SESAC and GMR licenses?

No. You need both. GymRadio.com provides the music for business use, and the license covers playing it in public in the US.

Do the ads and class announcements need a license?

No. The ads and announcements you make in the Ad Studio are your own content.

Which currency do I pay in?

You can pay in US dollars: Pro is $79 a month, or $749 a year.
